Bible Reading Plan 2023

I’m a big proponent for reading the ENTIRE Bible. It’s been the single best thing I’ve ever done other than choose to trust and obey God.

I love the @everyword90 plan and have completed it in the 90 days, but also at 100 days and 180+ days. It’s chronological and written by wonderful women from my church.

This year, I’m trying this One Year Bible that I found at our county’s library sale for $2. It’s 2 OT chapters, 1 NT, part of a Psalm, and a few verses of Proverbs every day. It’s SO manageable and I am surprised at how much I am gaining from the side by side OT/NT readings.

Also, for the past 2 years I’ve picked a yearly devotional to go with my Bible reading plan.

Year 1 was New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp. So good!

Year 2 was Morning and Evening by Spurgeon and sheesh it was convicting and encouraging.

This year is My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers and this dude knows how to pack a punch in 15-20 sentences. Goodness gracious. So good!

And may I encourage you to simply try to read your Bible more this year? Maybe this all sounds daunting or scary… maybe you’ve started in Genesis and never made it past Leviticus (that was me forever)… maybe you don’t know what you are doing… you can message me (or maybe I’ll do another post) and I’ll send you some good places to start. But really, it starts with a Bible (inexpensive ones are at Goodwill all the time) and a heart posture that prays the Holy Spirit will teach you. That’s it. It’s not a magical formula. It’s prayer and God’s grace.
